Where should a small business start with AI?

Start by finding out what’s already happening. Most businesses have employees using AI tools on their own. Knowing which tools are in use, and what data is going into them, is the first step to using AI safely and getting real value from it.

Is our company data safe if employees use ChatGPT or Copilot?

It depends on which tools they use, how those tools are set up, and what information goes into them. Some tools keep your data inside your company’s environment; others don’t. A quick review shows where you’re protected and where you’re exposed.

What is shadow AI?

Shadow AI is any AI tool your employees use for work without the company approving or managing it. It’s common, and it’s one of the easiest ways for sensitive information to leave your business without anyone noticing.

Do we need an AI acceptable use policy?

Yes, if your team uses AI in any form. A simple policy tells employees which tools are approved, what information they can and can’t share, and who to ask when they’re unsure.

Do we have to be a Protek IT client to work with you on AI?
